We came off a fresh subscription that had taken over an entire freezer drawer. I expected a fight at the bowl going back to something dry, but honestly there was no drop-off at all. He eats it with the same enthusiasm, I've got my freezer back, and I'm not defrosting anything at 7am anymore. It's the first food that felt like an upgrade and a simplification at the same time.

My spaniel is a nightmare for picking around anything that isn't meat. Vegetables, supplements, anything mixed in, he'd eat around it and leave a neat little pile. This is the first food he finishes completely, including the bits I'd normally find on the floor. He actually stands by the cupboard now when he hears it open, which he has never done for any food in two years.

I read the ingredient list before I bought it, which I almost never do, and it was the first one where I actually recognised every single thing on it. No 'meat meal', no list of things I'd have to look up. The dog doesn't care about any of that, obviously, but I do, and he's done brilliantly on it, so we both got what we wanted.

Older dog, slowing down, getting fussy with food the way they do. I wasn't expecting a seven-year-old to get excited about dinner again. He's not a puppy, but he's noticeably keener at mealtimes and holding weight well, and for his age that's exactly what I wanted to see. Simple food, doing the simple thing properly.
